Once again you are the main partners at ADMC – why is this important for SEHA?
Simple. We are based in Abu Dhabi and our company is one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in the region. These characteristics put us in a position of leadership in this market and we believe it is our obligation to the public, our partners, vendors and our stockholder, the Government of Abu Dhabi, to showcase our growth and accomplishments right here in our own backyard.
What will you be showcasing at the show, is there anything different from last year?
In terms of our presence at the event and our interest in meeting patients, stakeholders, fellow employees visiting the event from any of our business entities, our mission remains the same as last year. We are not "selling" anything. We are there to answer questions and inform, take suggestions and complaints and follow the company's mission of continuous improvement to recognized international standards.
How does SEHA view the healthcare industry in Abu Dhabi and how will a Congress such as ADMC contribute to the growth of this sector?
The Congress brings focus on the vibrancy of the healthcare marketplace in the region, especially in Abu Dhabi. While Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) is the largest single provider in the Emirate and owns and operates 12 hospitals, 62 clinics and 2 regional blood banks, we represent the public sector only. There is a robust and expanding private sector that has about 45% of the market and is growing. Many of them will be represented at ADMC as well. So attendees can get the "big picture" of the healthcare market in Abu Dhabi, all at one venue and gain a further appreciation of the wisdom of the Government to raise the bar of healthcare delivery through competition and enlightened regulation of the healthcare sector generally.
